Conferência por Zuheir Altamimi

"The International Terrestrial Reference Frame and the UN-GGIM initiative on the Global Geodetic Reference Frame:
Strengths and Weaknesses"

Nota Biográfica

Zuheir Altamimi is a Research Director at the Institut National de l’Information Géographique et Forestière (IGN), France. He received his Ph.D. in space geodesy from Paris Observatory, and his habilitation (2nd doctorate) from Paris University VI. Zuheir Altamimi is presently the Vice-President of the International Association of Geodesy. His major contribution to space geodesy is the continuous improvement of determining the International Terrestrial Reference Frame (ITRF). The ITRF is the metrological framework that has become essential for Earth science applications and for satellite navigation. For the past 35 years, Altamimi has constantly worked to improve the accuracy of the ITRF realisation: its origin, scale, and orientation and the temporal evolution of these defining parameters. He is also deeply involved in the United Nations initiative on the Global Geodetic Reference Frame for Sustainable Development.

Nota Biográfica

Alan Muse - BSc (Hons) MSc FRICS - has over 30 years’ experience in construction, specializing in the project and cost management of schemes up to £4 billion. Overseas experience includes spells in both the Middle East and East Asia. Since joining the RICS in May 2011, Alan Muse has been involved in all aspects of the RICS response to the UK government construction strategy. Also, he leads international construction and BIM initiatives within the RICS including the development of skills, training and guidance for RICS members. Finally, as a Global Director in Professional Groups he liaises with Chartered Surveyors on general matters of international standards development, international construction policy and global education and training.

"Turning Challenging Times into Opportunities"



Nota Biográfica

See Lian Ong has an illustrious career spanning over 40 years in both the public and private Sectors. Dr. Ong was the President of the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia, RISM (2003 – 2004) and Chairman of Pacific Association of Quantity Surveyors (PAQS) (2003 to 2005).  He was the 130th Global President of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, RICS (2011-2012). His inauguration on 4 th July 2011 was a historic event as he was the first non-British citizen, first Asian and the first Malaysian to be elected as the Global President of RICS.  Currently he is the Chairman of FIG Commission for Construction Economics and Management (Commission 10). He is also the elected Chairman of the Standard Setting Committee (SSC) for International Construction Measurement Standard (ICMS). Dr. Ong is a multiple awards winner for his contributions to the construction industry and the surveying profession including the "Most Prominent Player in the Construction Industry 2011” by Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia and the "David Bucknall Award” for contributions to the Quantity Surveying Profession (2017) by Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
